Ichiban-Kuji Part 7 Entei, Suicune, Raikou Metal Keychains
Banpresto 2000

Very large metal keychains from part 7 of the Ichiban-Kuji lotteries. They aren't too difficult to find luckily, especially out of package. Other Johto Pokémon such as Ho-Oh, Lugia, and the Johto starters had similar keychains made of them.

Ichiban-Kuji Part 8 Entei Plush
Banpresto 2000

Very easily the second rarest Entei plush, coming in only second to the Big Size (giant) Entei plush. It is also the second largest, towering one or two inches over even the new release Tomy plush. It is very distinctive in its large plastic eyes, portruding head crest, and vinyl leg braces, and its taffeta mane extends longer than any other Entei plush, nearly touching the ground. It took years of searching, but finally I was able to snag this gorgeous plush.

Ichiban-Kuji Pocket Monsters Part 8 Cellphone Strap Entei, Suicune
Banpresto 2000

A neat, flat Entei cellphone strap with a Suicune figure charm to attach to it. While not overly rare, it can be hard to find the two in the original packaging.

Ichiban-Kuji Part 9 Suicune Plush
Banpresto 2001

After years of searching, I was finally able to nab this amazing Suicune plush. Like the Ichiban-Kuji Entei, it is the second rarest Suicune plush in existance, second to the Big Size (giant) plush. While similar in some ways to the old UFO plush, there are several distinguishing features that set it apart, including the larger size, thicker legs, mane, ribbons, and head crest, flatter eyes that are actually vinyl instead of plastic, and the signature "cat smile". (Doesn't it look like a cat smile to you too?) The white diamonds are also vinyl-ish instead of painted on. While not the best-looking Suicune plush, I love it for its charm, as it smiles up at me with that cat smile.

Ichiban-Kuji Pocket Monsters Part 9 Stamp Figure Suicune
Banpresto 2001

Another extremely rare Suicune Ichiban-Kuji item, this roller stamp is large and amazingly detailed. I also know of Celebi and Pichu getting one.

Ichiban-Kuji Pocket Monsters Part 10 Suicune Case
Banpresto 2001

From part 10 of Ichiban-Kuji comes yet another rare Suicune, a neat cloth case with hard interfacing that ties shut. A fun fact about older Suicune items is when the Romanized name is put on an item, it was the literal one, "Suikun". It wasn't until more recently that items were made with the English (and many other languages, including German) name: Suicune. One quick way to tell older items apart!

Ichiban-Kuji Part 10 Seal Plate Suicune
Banpresto 2001

A very unique Ichiban-Kuji prize, which for the longest time I wasn't sure what exactly it was. Seeing the back of the packaging however reveals instructions to stick or place a seal to the back of the plate, so I'm assuming it's some sort of seal holder. Regardless, it's a beautiful piece of merchandise.

Ichiban-Kuji Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl ~Johto Chihouhen~ Double Chance Campaign First Place Saikoro Cushion
Banpresto 2009

From the first new Ichiban-Kuji promotion with the Beast Trio in nearly ten years. This large cushion is larger (and more overstuffed!) than the normal Saikoro Cushion amusement prizes by Banpresto. It features the three beasts on three sides (with Suicune's name in the English Romanization, continuing from the trivia about it in the item above), and the Johto starters on the other three sides.

Ichiban-Kuji Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl ~Johto Chihouhen~ Double Chance Campaign Third Place Purse Pouch Raikou, Entei, Suicune
Banpresto 2009

A neat little pouch that was third place in this Ichiban-Kuji promotion, which was held beginning December 2009. It's about large enough to hold a DS Lite, I believe.

Ichiban-Kuji Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl ~Johto Chihouhen~ Double Chance Campaign Fourth Place Sofubi Keychains Raikou, Entei, Suicune
Banpresto 2009

Very, very adorable chibified (and large!) figure keychains of the three beasts, the fourth place prize in the December 2009 Ichiban-Kuji promotion commemorating HeartGold and SoulSilver. Luckily still common enough that they can be found without too much trouble, so well worth picking up if you like a beast.

PokéPark Limited? Pokémon Merry-Go-Round Taiwanese Mini Magnet
?? 2006?

While it's well-known that PokéPark was in Japan in 2005, many might not know that it was also in Taiwan one year later in 2006. Since the characters on this magnet appear to be Chinese rather than Japanese, and is of enough quality and copyright markings to seem to be official, this minature magnet was probably exclusive to Taiwan. I also speculate that it might've been randomly blind-packaged among other magnets.

Happy☆PokéPark Pokémon Merry-Go-Round
Bandai Japan 2005

While technically not a promotional item, I felt like it fit here best. This is a little candytoy playset replica of the Beast Trio's Merry-Go-Round. It really works; just turn the orange gear and the orange base spins, while the three beasts spin independently. Very adorable, and perhaps the closest I may get to riding the real thing.

Bandai Japan 2000

One of the very rarest Beast Trio items out there, these were limited to only 500 each in a campaign held by Bandai from July 7 to September 30, 2000. Even today, items limited to 500 in a campaign are very hard and expensive to obtain, let alone an item that's ten years old. But I got extremely lucky, and I am extremely grateful to have these gorgeous figures in my collection. They are beautiful, metallic and painted to look like they have a bit of patina, for a very realistic metal look. Even the name and attack stickers on the bases have a metallic sheen.
